Simon Derbyshire has 20 years experience in working with a wide range of young people who have special educational needs and emotional and behavioural difficulties. Simon’s background is Outdoor Education and he has worked in some very challenging environments across the UK and Europe. Simon worked in a 52 week residential placement for another company as well as working in two separate residential special schools. Simon has worked his way through a variety of different roles in his time working in the care sector. Simon believes in a proactive approach to childcare and will lead Ireleth House to ensure a homely atmosphere that is child centered in all approaches that we take.

Simon has a wide variety of outdoor qualifications as well as NVQ L3 CYP, NVQ Level 4 Health & Social Care, NVQ 4 in Leadership and Management, Diploma Level 5 Leadership & Management for Residential Services. Simon has been in the role of a deputy safeguarding Lead in a residential school. His passion is the outdoors and sports such as football and rugby. Simon enjoys nothing more than seeing Young People thrive through positive experiences and trust built up with the staff team who work proactively with them.
